Ray Kissel�WCH Employee of the Year
Ray Kissel was elected by his fellow employees as Wilson County Hospital�s 2004 Employee of the Year. He received an Employee of the Year pin, a plaque, and a check for $100 �along with a standing ovation from coworkers at the Employee Recognition Dinner. The event was held Saturday, January 29, at the Neodesha Civic Center.
Deanna Pittman, Hospital Administrator, described him as a perfect recipient of the award�one who demonstrates teamwork, performance beyond expectation, a positive and helpful attitude, superior work and innovation. Ray started at WCH three years ago and is a member of the Maintenance Team. He takes customer service seriously and does whatever it takes to get the job done. Many of the employees who nominated Ray mentioned that he was willing to serve on committees including the Activity or Social Committee and Bioterrorism Decon Team. Others remembered Ray helped serve dinner at Women�s Night Out! Employees appreciate his culinary skills including his grilled hamburgers. They also mention him taking part in �Cheese Ball Challenge� last December�and his entry winning first place. Ray takes call from his home in Fredonia and never complains when called in for an emergency. Ray�s photo will be hung in the lobby of the Hospital along with previous Employees of the Year.
Other recognitions included Years of Service Awards to Stephanie Adee, Susan Ritter, Rebecca Rhone, Patricia Peck, Audrey Thompson, Donna Queen, and Bonnie Townsend (5 years); Clara Grabner, Cheryle Agosto, Marsha Shultz, Nancy Wilson -retired and rehired (10 years); Linda Martin and Julie Nichol (15 years); Pam Eury, Joyce Crawford and Karolyn Schultz (25 years) and Janice Erbe (30 years). Susie Olson, HR, expressed her appreciation to employees who have retired with KPERS but continue to work part-time at the Hospital: Jan Bishop, Joan Dickens, Darline Huguenin, Judy Perkins, Marjorie Timmons, and Nancy Wilson.
The dinner was catered by the Guero�s Mexican Restaurant in Fredonia. Chris Bauman assisted the WCH Management Team with decorations for the event, Festivale
Carniv�le. Dinner music was provided by strolling guitarist John Hamlin, and the NHS cast of Grease served as servers and presented several songs from their upcoming production.
