Get Fit! Friends Make Wishes Come True
Several weeks ago the Christmas Tree at Get Fit! was heavy with 151 candy canes and attached tags. On each tag was a wish from an area child whose parents needed some assistance to make their children�s Christmas dreams come true. This week the area around the tree is piled with presents to make 16 families lives happier.
The children�s names were supplied by personnel of USD 461 and the Wilson County Health Department. The presents were purchased by employees, members and friends of Get Fit!, Wilson County Hospital�s Wellness Center.
Most children wanted toys and clothes. Every gift request has been filled and each family will also receive a G & W gift certificate and a large can of popcorn. Family sizes range from 2 to 7 members.
The gifts include 6 bicycles with helmets. Brandy Daniels, Get Fit! Wellness Coordinator said they were including a contract which parent�s could have children sign promising they would always wear their helmets while riding their bikes. These same contracts are available free of charge to any parent who wants to pick a copy at Get Fit! which is located at 6th and Main, Neodesha. Designer bicycle helmets are also available for $7.50 in a variety of sizes and designs. The staff is hoping every child receiving a bicycle for Christmas will also receive a helmet.
